Bolzano. Lately Sharon Stone has a different more youthful look, with fuller, perfect cheeks, without the shadow of a wrinkle. The credit, according to a German magazine "Bunte" and the Italian magazine "Repubblica D" is given to Italian plastic surgeon Renato Calabria, who May 12'h will be the guest of "La Vecchia Factoria" a noon show on Racuno which will feature the latest techniques of pulsed light laser.

Dr. Renato Calabria, born in Bolzano 46 years ago, is in fact considered the latest guru of Hollywood celebrities; the magic word that opened the door in Hollywood is the "Vertical Facelift".

The story of the plastic surgeon most loved by the overseas Divas starts in Bolzano October 18, 1954. "A city that I loved very much, where my parents live and where I went to school through college." After that Calabria moves to Padua, where he got his medical degrees and then decides to go to America. "I found that it was an intelligent way to spend the summer by doing something interesting. So I ended up in L.A., guest of my grandaunt Gemma who lived in Bel Air with her husband who was the west coast Chief Executive of "Buitoni" and "Perugina". It was a fantastic month at the end of which I decided to apply to Harbour UCLA for a fellowship in surgery. I started like this, almost by chances."

Residencies after residencies between San Diego and San Francisco where he graduated from a prestigious Plastic Surgery program at St. Francis Hospital. Calabria also spent some time in Central and South America where he donated his time reconstructing babies with congenital deformities."It wasn't easy" he continues "I worked really hard going in different countries to get more experience." In 1995 he is one of the first surgeons to utilize the C02 Laser Resurfacing and he is often invited in Europe to lecture. In these years he met Carrie who becomes his wife and with whom has 2 children: Andrea, 3 yrs old and Niccolo, bom in February of this year. Then he concentrated himself to perfecting the "Vertical Facelift" and the jump in quality is decisive. Along with the office in Beverly Hills and Westlake Village he is working in Palm Springs and he is thinldng at two European locations, Rome and St. Moritz. The "Divas" in Hollywood adore him also, because, with this new technique, he is able to correct previous facelifts not well executed.

He lives in Beverly Hills with the family and 2 dogs. Surrounded by celebrity neighbors that are in line to get some work done by him it is impossible to find out who are his clients, he is tight mouthed. "I'm sorry but it would not be ethical; also all my employees sign a confidentiality agreement. We only know that on Sunday morning he has an appointment with Rod Stewart. "Is he having something done?" by no means Calabria concludes; "I'm not touching him, we only play soccer together!"
